A comparatively recent release from Bunnahabhain, a less-peated dram from Islay, this single malt has been sherry matured for 18 years and exhibits coastal notes and some medicinal undertones.
Bunnahabhain 18 Tasting Note
Nose: Full, doughy. Cereals, warm pastries, lightly salted butter. Some bruised fruit emerges with a hint of smoke. Iodine. Malt, apple peel.
Palate: Quite dry, bruised apple, pear sweetness. A definite burnt character emerges: smoked ham, spent matches.
Finish: Short, but pleasant. Burnt pastry, smoke.
